Currently I am developing my very first “paid” joomla website. Although I have been playing with joomla component, this is the first time I sat down patiently and actually learn as user on how to use joomla as my content management.
My learning curve include:

1. creation of sections and categories
2. modification of the template layout
3. creation of new position in template
4. creation of new module on the right side of the template

I put myself in the user prespective, I found that it’s pretty difficult to use standard joomla user editor. At first I used JCE Joomla Editor extension. It was alright at first, but when I need to create image link, I can’t workout how to do it from the editor. After searching around, I found another editor that have better features called JCK. This editor give user wyswyg feel. I like this, and i believe my user can easily adapt to this editor as it’s almost the same ms word or openoffice toolbar.

Beside searching for good editor to use, I found another nice extension called: Imagesized. Although there’s a few buys found in this extension, e.g the width and height of the thumbnail will stretch the image and the “Frontpage only” setting is not working, this extension help me to show a cleaner page.

As the website that I work on have other sub website, I think I should go back to my work to work on subsite with different template.
