Installing OpenOffice3 in Ubuntu Hardy
December 21, 2008 8:27 pm Open Office, Ubuntu/LinuxRemove all previous OpenOffice installation either by Synaptic Package Manager or use apt from command line:
[html] aptitude purge openoffice
From Synaptic Package Manager, add new Repository: Setting->Repositories->Third-Party Software->Add
[html]http://ppa.launchpad.net/openoffice-pkgs/ubuntu/ hardy main
Then Reload the Synaptic Package Manager to retrieve the new package.
If the new OpenOffice.org3 does not shown in Applications->Office, try to reinstall the whole Office package:
[html] apt-get install openoffice.org
Installing OpenOffice help package:
[html] apt-get install openoffice.org-help-en-us
Installing python-uno for OpenOffice:
[html] apt-get install python-uno
